Description: The sterling silver Firekeeper Two Small is 1.5" x .5" in size. The Firekeeper design has been around a long time. At the time she was created, I was part of a monthly women's sweat-lodge in the mountains of Virginia. Constant vigilance of the fire was required in order to keep the stones hot for the sauna. She was born out of that experience and also reminded me of our ancient mothers who steadily 'kept the fire' to insure that the home stayed warm and secure. Recently inspired by the fire tenders at MICHFEST, I have reworked her to have more fire in her hips and curves! A story.... The first friend I lost to cancer was Linda Getty. She wore the large Firekeeper pendant. That was about 17 years ago. Linda spent the last days of her life at home with marvelous caregivers. I gave her a few pendants (Healers, Firekeepers) to give to her wonderful helpers as gifts. It felt like something I could do as I was not the one spending all the many days and hours of cooking for and bathing Linda and she of course was not out shopping for gifts for her friends. It is still always wonderful to hear stories from those women who received pendants from Linda. K
