Description:
The sterling silver Oya pendant is 1.90" X .90" in size.
This piece is a collaboration with Marilyn McClellan creator of
Image of Health . Marilyn has been educating
me about the West African orishas. The Yoruba people recognize
numerous nature or messenger spirits (similar to Christian angels)
called orishas. Marilyn originally got her inspiration for the logo
for her business from our Yemaya piece. Yemaya is the mother of Oya.
Oya, along with being the spirit of the wind, is also the ultimate
business woman. It seems very appropriate, in these turbulent times,
for me to work/play with this spirit. June 2010.
